The United States is becoming more dependent on foreign oil under Barack Obama

    TRUTH

U.S. dependence on imported oil has dramatically declined since it peaked in 2005

The federal Energy Information Agency (EIA) noted in 2011 that “U.S. dependence on imported oil has dramatically declined since peaking in 2005.” In 2012, Bloomberg reported, “The U.S. exported more gasoline, diesel and other fuels than it imported in 2011 for the first time since 1949, the Energy Department said.”

And in March 2013, the EIA reported, “Monthly crude oil production in the United States is expected to exceed the amount of U.S. crude oil imports later this year for the first time since February 1995. The gap between monthly U.S. crude oil production and imports is projected to be almost 2 million barrels per day (bbl/d) by the end of next year.”
