The Transportation Security Administration is going to screen airline passengers' DNA at airports

The DHS planed to test a portable DNA screener in refugee cases

In 2011, the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration agency planned to test a portable DNA screener to determine family relationships in refugee cases. The agency, called the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, already offered lab-based DNA testing prior to the tests.

The Transportation Security Agency, which checks passengers at airports, had nothing to do with the testing and said that it had no plans to use “any technology capable of testing DNA.”
